1Mb Broadband access to become legal right in Finland
According to the Finish media the government is preparing to make 1Mb Broadband internet access a legal right from next July 2010.
It had already decided to make a 100 Mb broadband connection a legal right by the end of 2015. The 1Mb Broadband access becomes the 1st step in this direction.
Practical operational measures have not been shared in detail but it is understood that mobile wireless access could be used if connectivity via a land lines is an issue for remote users.
Finland would become the world’s first country to create laws guaranteeing broadband access; and the 2nd country after Estonia to guarantee Internet access. The right for every citizen to have access to the internet has been written in the Estonian constitution in 2004.
Internet Access: 100 km ahead.
